Gene identified that causes spead of cancer

Posted on Posted in Science News

Scientists have discovered a gene that encourages the spreading of cancer cells through the body.

Cancer cells can move from their initial position by what is called metastasis through the lymph nodes or through the blood. Scientists believe that with this knowledge, it may be possible to block that gene and to help the treatment of cancer. Researchers believe that with their work, new and more effective cancer treatments will be available in around a decade. The research is still very new and has not been developed much.
